Technology Association of Grantmakers strengthens members through Equity Essentials for Philanthropy Tech in partnership with Resilia

The initiative will develop a program which supports technologists within philanthropy to better approach their work through the lens of equity.

New Orleans, LA. - Resilia, a social enterprise with offices in New Orleans and New York City, and Technology Association of Grantmakers have come together to strengthen equity awareness and practice for technologists working within Philanthropy.

The Technology Association of Grantmakers (TAG) cultivates the strategic, equitable, and innovative use of technology in philanthropy. As such, the association recognizes the depth and breadth of influence technologists and technology play in modern philanthropy and, based on member feedback, is developing a first of its kind “Equity Essentials” program designed with this unique context in mind.

In the Resilia and TAG collaboration, participants will join collaborative learning webinars as well as complete self-guided sessions leveraging Resilia’s capacity-building platform. Designed to build mission-facing and back-office equity practice, the 6-month learning and support series is co-created by Resilia and TAG’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Working Group.

“This program aims to address a need identified by our members in the charitable sector,” says TAG Executive Director, Chantal Forster. “People in technology-related roles are seeking new skills to contribute and even lead equity work in their organizations. Our data from the 2018 and 2020 State of Philanthropy Tech surveys show they’re not receiving relevant training in-house.”

"Our partnership with the Technology Association of Grantmakers represents a significant step towards the advancement of equity work for technologists within the philanthropy sector. It is a comprehensive program designed to solve a real problem and we're excited to collaborate around this first of its kind initiative." says Resilia Founder and CEO Sevetri Wilson.
